In the minds of most people, Love and Education are not typically two words that go together. So, why
‘To Education, with LOVE’?
Love is not part of the standard of the current educational system. There is currently no reference to Love being part of the standard of the education system. This is demonstrated globally by the escalation of student disengagement, teacher stress and exhaustion. The rise in mental health conditions, the statistics on self-harming and youth suicide, all show us that the human being is unwell and is starved of the love that is the foundation of our essence.
Love is who we are. If we are not offering love in education, are we then failing to address the wholeness of our being?
Teachers know that true and deep connection to their students is of equal significance to what is taught. From this quality of connection, love then becomes the true standard, the foundation of everything we do. How would it be if our curriculum, our relationships and our routines were all founded on this quality of love?
The education we bring to our children is calling out for this foundation of loving responsibility. Integral to this is not only acknowledging what supports this foundation of love but also being open to seeing what is not of this quality.
